James 3:6 - 8

And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.  For every species off beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by the human race.  But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of poison.

James continues his warning to us about the power of the tongue to destroy, but don't miss the underlying focus:  The tongue is powerful.

James tells us that the tongue is set in our body.  If God set it amongst our members, then God set it there for a purpose.  It has the power to destroy, but what is the tongue's higher calling?  What is your tongue's higher calling?

If you were in possession of something so powerful - what would you do with that power?

Heed the warnings from James, but don't loose sight of how much you can help with your tongue.
