Song of Songs 5:1
"I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh along with my balsam. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk. Eat, friends; Drink and imbibe deeply, O lovers."
This quote is from the groom.
Do you feel the celebration? The bride has described herself as a garden. The groom has described the bride as a garden. Now, the groom makes reference to the celebration that happens when he encounters his bride. And it is a great description.
I have gathered all of the sweet things to me. I have had my fill of sweet food. My cup runneth over with wine and with milk. I am full.
Then he tells those around him; all of you, eat and drink until you are full!
Here we see Christ's response to relationship with you and me.
It is a celebration, a party, whenever I am near My beloved! What could be better? Nothing! Everybody, celebrate with Me.
It is the return of the prodigal son, the feast with Zacchaeus, the anointing with oil before burial, the victory over Goliath...
Our challenge is, always, to accept it. To see the joy in God's eyes with the return of one of His. Today, would you take your place as the bride of Jesus?
