Song of Songs 8:5-7
"Who is this coming up from the wilderness, leaning on her beloved? Beneath the apple tree I awakened you; there your mother was in labor with you, there she was in labor and gave you birth. Put me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, Jealousy is as severe as Sheol; its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, nor will rivers overflow it; if a man were to give all the riches of his house for love, it would be utterly despised."
Here is where the end of the story begins to take place. Solomon and his beloved are found walking up from the wilderness. Look at their proximity to each other. Look at the intimate words he speaks to her - it is like she was reborn.
And then they begin to speak of the power of love.
This is the theme of Song of Songs: Love is powerful.
What can love do for you? Have you ever loved someone through a crisis? Has being loved changed the way that you live? or the way that you faced a difficult situation? This is what changes Solomon and his beloved. Being loved by God changes us.
Our challenge today is to show love for someone when they need it most.
