Mark 1:9-13
Now Mark introduces us to the Son of God. The way he introduces us is important.
We first see Jesus, in the book of Mark, at His baptism. Mark starts with no genealogy and no deep insight into the character of the God/ Man. Mark simply says Jesus is from Galilee and He is getting wet. He is allowing us to make our own decision about Jesus' humanity.
We are confronted with a Jesus that looks just like we do.
As if that were not enough, Mark 1:12 says, "Immediately the Spirit impelled Him to go out into the wilderness."
Now we see Jesus in obedience mode.
Does Jesus go? Why? The Greek word simply means, "moved" The Spirit just moved Jesus.
What about you and me? Does the Spirit move you? If the answer is "no", then you believe there is a separation between you and the Spirit. If the answer is "yes" then you believe you can look a lot like Jesus.
Can you be used like Jesus was? Can you be effective like Jesus was? Can you be moved like Jesus was?
