Mark 6:1-6
"Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary?"
These words seem harmless and familiar. The people Jesus is interacting with are His close friends. People that He grew up with. They know Him.
So, why is the most powerful man unable to perform miracles?
This is a great example of what happens when we make up our mind about Jesus without realizing that Jesus is greater than our deepest imagination, In other words, we put Jesus in a box,
The people of Jesus' hometown could only see Jesus for what they could see on the surface. They needed to look beyond His skin and into His heart. When you look for Jesus, what do you see? Do you realize that there is more? Do you look for the "more" as well?
What about our friends?
There is more to us than what is seen.
Look.
