Mark 6:7-13
Jesus summons His twelve disciples and sends them out to preach.
As they go, Jesus tells them not to worry about certain things - two tunics, shoes for traveling... He also tells them to shake the dust off their feet as a testimony against people who will not hear.
This living object lesson is familiar to us when we look back at the prophets like Jeremiah and Isaiah. God made them look a certain way as a testimony of who He is. Here we see Jesus giving the same instructions. Physically look like this so people will get a glimpse of God.
How does this compare to our lives today? When we act, do our motives point to God? Do our actions point to God?
Verse 13 shows us the results: The disciples looked just like Jesus.
