Mark 10:1-12
Now Jesus is questioned about divorce. The rule for this time period really leaned on the side of men, not women. The Pharisees asked Jesus what His opinion was.
This was a hot topic for the day, just as it is today. The Pharisees were looking for an argument - and that should have been very simple. Either way that Jesus answered would have been debatable. They were asking, "Is divorce to be done this way, or that way."
Then Jesus drops a bomb on them: Moses wrote these rules because of your hardness of heart.
Is the world changed because of the hardness of our hearts? Let me ask that same question in a different way. When we refuse to bend to God's purpose, can bad things happen that effect us and those that come after us?
Jesus points the Pharisees and us in a different direction. The involvement that God has in love - in the family - in marriage.
What therefore God has joined...
