Mark 9:42-50

Jesus is talking about our priorities.

More than what your eyes want, more than what your hands want, more than what your feet or your heart or your taste buds want - look to what your soul needs.

Jesus is not suggesting that we literally cut our hands off.  He is telling us that we do not need to be controlled by our hands; that we can take them out of the equation.

God is telling us what is most important.  The soul.  The stuff of man that lasts forever.

How much time do we spend looking to the things that are eternal?  Can you name three things in your life that will last forever?   Are your eyes in that list?  What about your hands?

Jesus also focuses here on the little ones, or new believers.  Can you name three things in a new believer's life that will last forever?  What are you doing to build on his soul?  What can we do to increase the spirit of a man?
