Authority.

Looking back with historical and faith-based eyes, it is easy to see by Who's Authority Jesus works.  Those that lived during His time did not have the historical view -they were forced to live completely by faith.  This is why they asked Jesus, "Who gives You this authority?"

Where does authority come from?   From the Author.  And how can you tell if someone has authority?

We can ask the same today - Is Jesus acting under His own authority or under God's authority?  Are those the same?  Is everyone that is an ambassador under the authority of the One who directs them?  Is everyone who is sent under the authority of the Sender?

Jesus does not answer the Pharisee's question, and this forces them to discover the answer by faith, through faith...

What will your answer be if faith is the only guide?
