Jonah 3:5-6
"Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them. When the word reached the king of Nineveh, he arose from his throne, laid aside his robe from him, covered himself with sackcloth and sat on the ashes."
Here is a picture of revival. Look at what happens to Nineveh.
The people believed in God. Often, towns believe that they can help themselves out of a crises. People believe the same. Self help books abound and people buy them. Something happens in Nineveh though - they begin to believe in God.
Next they put on sackcloth. They practice repentance. They cry out the words that cleanse the soul: "I'm sorry"
Finally, word gets to the king. This is important as well. The leader is the last one to hear about the movement. It is not politically driven. It is not leadership driven. It IS God driven. God works in the lives of people just like you and me.
When God works, revival happens.
Will God work in you today?
