Micah 1:15-16
"Moreover, I will bring on you the one who takes possession, O inhabitant of Mareshah. The glory of Israel will enter Adullam. Make yourself bald and cut off your hair, because of the children of your delight; extend your baldness like the eagle, for they will go out from you into exile."
These last verses in chapter one speak to the loss of Israel and the beginning of the remnant.
Often when we think of remnant, we think of people that have perservered - but Micah speaks directly to these people, telling them about the difficulty that comes with loss. "Make yourself bald" is a symolic act signifying beginning over. Micah is suggesting to Judah that life is about to be different than they have ever expected.
Mourning must fill the streets before revival does.
What are you mourning for now? Is there a reason for your mourning?
God works in Judah through her mourning.
God works in us through our mourning.
