Micah 2:12-13

"I will surely assemble all of you, Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel.  I will put them together like sheep in the fold; like a flock in the midst of its pasture they will be noisy with men.  The breaker goes up before them; they break out, pass through the gate and go out by it.  So their king goes on before them, and the Lord at their head."

Remnant theology is, at the same time, beautiful and tragic.

God is saying that no matter how much pain is inflicted on the people of Israel, He will step in and rescue those who are in peril.  Of coarse, this means that the people of Israel will have to be in peril.  The Good Father never enjoys seeing His children suffer.

Micah describes the time of the remnant:  So many will be rescued, they will be like a pen for sheep - busting full.  The guard fence will go up and the sheep, in power, will run for freedom.  They will be accompanied by their king, but at their head - the Lord!

This is a great picture of the people that are rescued...  Of the power of the heart set free...

This is what happens when Jesus enters our scene.

The one who is like Jehovah helps the captives go free.
