Micah 2:6-8
"'Do not speak out' so they speak out. But if they do not speak out concerning these things, reproaches will not be turned back. It is said, O house of Jacob: 'Is the Spirit of the Lord impatient? Are these His doings?' Do not My words do good to the one walking uprightly? 'Recently My people have arisen as an enemy - you strip the robe off the garment, from unsuspecting passers by, from those returned from war."
At this point in Micah, a group of angry leaders or possibly prophets arise against Micah and the word of God. They tell him, "Don't speak out!", but his answer is: If nobody speaks out, reproaches will NOT be held back.
In other words - God's message must be heard.
The opposition in this case believes that if everyone says, "everything is OK" then nothing will need to change. They want to live well within the comfort zone. No discipline, no provocation, no message from God is necessary. They are fooling themselves.
Our challenge is to remember God moves. He is not a static God, but an active Lord. He does make commands on our lives - and we can obey.
