"In that day, declares the Lord, I will assemble the lame and gather the outcasts, even those whom I have afflicted.  I will make the lame a remnant and the outcasts a strong nation, and the Lord will reign over them in mount Zion from now on and forever.  As for you, tower of the flock, hill of the daughter of Zion, to you I will come - even the former dominion will come, the kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem."

Make no mistake - God is coming.

Here we see a more all inclusive look at the rescued.  God seems to be saying that He will leave no one behind.  If you fear that God does not love you because you are going through pain (even pain that God has induced), your fears are unwarranted.  God still has rescue in His thoughts.  Rescue for you.

Even more than that - God will make the remnant into a strong nation.  No longer will we be fighting to survive.  Soon, we will be living in strength.

He who is like Jehovah will be rescued for a purpose.
