Micah 7:18-20
"Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in unchanging love. He will again have compassion on us; He will tread our iniquities under foot. Yes, You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. You will give truth to Jacob and unchanging love to Abraham, which You swore to our forefathers from the days of old."
Micah finishes his book with a great question: Who is a God like You? Who is like Yahweh?
Here are the qualifications of this God. He pardons iniquity, passes over rebellion, has compassion on us before and after our sins, treads iniquity, and casts out our sins.
It is almost as if forgiveness is not enough for God - He will go to great extremes for our complete forgiveness. He will not stop until He has, "made a fool out of" our iniquities.
Micah begins his book by telling us that God is coming to visit. He ends the book by telling us why God will come. To bring life.
He who is like Jehovah brings words of life.
