Acts 3:12-15
"But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, 'Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the One who you delivered up, and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murder to be granted to you, but put to death the Prince of Life, the One whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses."
When Peter notices the crowd gathered around, he makes sure to set the record straight.
They were all marveling. Wow! You healed this man! You are amazing. But Peter knew the truth, that it was God who did the work. It was Christ in Peter.
Peter reminded the crowd just how obvious it was that God was in control, and not man. We are often called to do the same thing. Not merely evangelism - but pointing out the work of God.
Do you think it could have possibly been by our own piety that this man is walking? Of coarse not! God works like this all the time. Then Peter begins to tell the men that are gathered around about God in the flesh: Jesus. He says that these men, and men just like them, disowned the power of God when they had the chance. But now they have another chance to see God.
When we speak to people, we must tell them the same. Our opportunity to see God is endless. He is still working. He is Jesus!

What a simple but deep concept: that when we are made aware of our sin, we can immediately turn, repent and be redeemed by the God that created us in love. Paul was able to speak into the lives of the people who heard him. Thank God He enables us to do the same. And what a privilege it is when motivated by the love of God.
