Acts 5:12-16
"At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon's portico. But none of the rest dared to associate with them; however, the people held them in high esteem. And all the more believers in the land, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number, to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any one of them. Also the people from the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together, bringing people who were sick or afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all being healed."
When John the Baptist sent word to Jesus asking Him if He was the Messiah, Jesus replied with a passage from Isaiah 35:5, "The lame will walk..."
Looking at that sign of the Messiah, it is easy to see who is working and alive in the apostles'. Jesus continues to move in and out of their lives. he continues to heal and to restore. Jesus continues to save, but instead of touching people with His physical hands, Jesus chooses to use the church.
That is still the truth today.
People lined the sick up in the streets to see if God's ultimate power would move them to new life. Jesus still gives new life.
Today, maybe you will look for new life.
