Acts 8:5-8

"And Philip went down to the city of Samaria and began proclaiming Christ to them.  And the multitudes with one accord were giving attention to what was said by Philip, as they heard and saw the signs which he was performing.  For in the case of many who had unclean spirits, they were coming out of them shouting with a loud voice; and many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.  And there was much rejoicing in that city."

Philip was not known for being in the "inner circle" of apostles while Jesus was alive.  Yet, when Jesus left, he rose to the occasion of spreading the good news.  These verses tell us that Philip was proclaiming Jesus Christ.  Wow!  What power exhibits itself through this man!  What a change in him.  From quiet listener to mighty presenter.

Here is the bottom line:  Encounters with Jesus yield great results.  Continual encounters with Jesus yield permanent life change.

What about your life?  Are you changing?  Growing?  Becoming more like Christ?  We call that progressive sanctification.

Will you grow toward Christ today?
