Acts 11:27-30

"Now at this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.  One of them named Agabus stood up and began to indicate by the Spirit that there would certainly be a great famine all over the world.  And this took place in the reign of Claudius.  And in the proportion that any of the disciples had means, each of them determined to send a contribution for the relief of the brethren living in Judea.  And this they did, sending it in charge of Barnabas and Saul to the elders."

Again, we see the church responding in a way that is appropriate for pointing to Jesus.

The churches began asking for help from the apostles.
The apostles were not rich men.
They sacrificed in response.
Their messengers were Saul and Barnabas.

Two things are happening here:

1.  The apostles realize how important sacrifice is.
2.  The apostles send two missionaries with the gifts - they understand how closely the need for Christ and the need for food are related.

When we meet needs, are sacrifice and Christ changing us?
