Acts 12:9-12
"And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. And when they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street; and immediately the angel departed from him. And when Peter came to himself, he said, 'Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.' And when he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who was also called Mark, were many were gathered together and were praying."
Where do you go when you are set free?
Peter walked out of a prison and went immediately to a prayer meeting. I can only imagine the reinforcement this gave people.
For the pray-ers, Peter's arrival meant that God still answers prayers. They prayed that Peter would be alright, then they saw him in the flesh. While they were still praying.
For Peter, the angel's arrival meant that God still does miracles. Surely Peter felt as though he had used God's grace all up by now. Nope.
For God, Peter's arrival at the prayer meeting meant Peter had learned the Source of good works. More importantly, Peter knew how to turn victory into praise.
We must all learn how to praise God when he wins. What has God won in your life today?
