Acts 14:19-20
"But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having won over the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. But while the disciples stood around him, he arose and entered the city. And the next day he went away with Barnabas to Derbe."
Don't make the mistake of thinking that there is a type of stoning that could leave someone alive. Stoning always kills the victim.
Therefore, when Paul was stoned and the Iconium Jews walked away, they assumed that he was out of their hair forever.
He was not. His God was ready to prove Himself through this vessel.
Today, great healing like this does not always happen. But God still proves Himself and His power through weak vessels like you and I.
What did Paul do to deserve this? The same thing he did to facilitate it: nothing.
Paul was simply the vessel.
We must be too. We must learn to be weak so God can be strong. We must learn to surrender so our Lord of hosts can claim victory.
Maybe you would rest in His power today.
