Acts 14:26-28
"And from there they sailed to Antioch, from which they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had accomplished. And when they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to report all things that God had done with them and how He had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. And they spent a long time with the Gentiles."
Growth and accountability go hand in hand.
There is a reason why Paul and Barnabas were so successful: The church at Antioch. If you remember, this is where the people were first called Christians. This is an important place for Paul and Barnabas. Barnabas went to get Paul and bring him to Antioch, probably so Paul would have a chance to learn how to be a leader.
Now they have returned after mission trips all over the known world to give an account of what has happened.
It is no wonder they spent a long time with the disciples.
When we are accountable to someone, we give them the opportunity to grow and to help us grow.
That's what was happening at Antioch.
