"These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you.  And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him."

Let's remember what John said in verse 10 of this chapter:  The one who loves his brother abides in Him.

This is a continuation of that thought.  It looks like John is simply instructing the people of God that they no longer need a teacher.

What John is doing is letting them know that they have all of the necessary tools for abiding in Jesus.  They have all the necessary tools for fellowship.  Now it is time that they learned from that fellowship, both with God and with God's people.

It is often difficult to understand that you are ready to be with the Father. 

If you seek righteousness - be confident that He has prepared you.
