Hope for Tuesday
Jeremiah 23:5 - "Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I shall raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as King and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land."
Jeremiah tells of a promise. A King, from the family tree of David, that will excel in righteousness, wisdom, and justice. This King will restore. That is what Israel was hoping would happen.
The King is Jesus. He is from David's lineage, though He was not born of man.
Why does this promised King give Israel hope? they have watched kings fail and succeed, but never meet their expectations. They are longing for more. They are longing for peace. We are longing for righteousness.
Hope is expectation. What are you expecting from God?
Are you willing to give yourself up for a King who heals all?
Do you believe the promise Jeremiah reiterated?
