Peace for Wednesday
John 8:4-5 - "They said to Him, 'Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?'"
Peace is what happens in our lives when we receive more love, grace and mercy than hate, rage and criticism. Jesus would have learned this lesson from His Heavenly Father. But He could have also learned the lesson from His earthly father, Joseph.
When Joseph found His wife to be was pregnant, he did not want to disgrace her, but instead took the brunt of the criticism upon himself by staying with her. This is exactly what Jesus is doing here. Saving a life by giving love.
Have you been exchanging the hate of the crowd for the love of God?
How can you show the promise of God by loving people that sin? How by judging them?
Does the peace of God always have to happen immediately, or is it more effective when there is a storm first?
