Beginning
Genesis 1:1-2 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters."
What does it mean to be formless and void? Look around. There are many planets that are formless and void. There is no life in them.
Is God still creator of these places? yes.
Then why did God create the earth like He did? Why did He make it habitable for humans?
When the Bible says, 'In the beginning,' we realize that it is not the beginning of God. It is the beginning of us.
Genesis is the story of how God set man into motion. How God turned what was beautiful, but formless, into something that has purpose. Purpose for His creation. Purpose in His creation. We are His creation as well.
This is where we see Christ.
Christ is the complete Purpose of God. As such, all creation is created for Him and with Him in mind.
Christ is not only the beginning of the beginning, He is the final note in the completed symphony.
Christ is Alpha and Omega.
