Image of Invisible
Genesis 1:27 - "And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
The image of God is tricky for us - because we cannot look on it. His glory is too much for us to even consider. So what could it mean that we were made in His image?
There are two images of God that we can comprehend:
One is the image of Christ. Christ is the physical form of a God who is invisible - or greater than our vision.
The second is the image of the Spirit. Though we do not see the 'Ruach Elohim', we know that our spirits communicate with the Holy Spirit in what we perceive as groans and mumblings. Our spirits can connect with God's Spirit where we cannot connect with God.
So there are two: The Spirit and the Son.
It is no coincidence that we are created, "male and female" in His image.
