The Fullness
Genesis 6:1-2 - "Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose."
Who were the men called the sons of God? Where did the women come from before men started to have daughters? Is it possible that more people were made from the dust and ribs as Adam and Eve were?
One thing we realize from this text is that after the fall in the garden, mankind's purpose became skewed.
Verse 2 tells us that the sons of God desired the daughters of men because they were beautiful. Yet we know that the first marriage, Adam and Eve, took place because Eve was meant to be a helper, or partner, to Adam.
I have no doubt that the daughters of men were beautiful, but they were meant to be so much more than simply beautiful. Their potential was not discovered, and mankind took a plunge.
Are we looking into the fullest potential of our wives? our husbands? our children? our nations? our race?
Do we see people like God sees us? Isn't it time we did?
