On Purpose
Genesis 6:5 - "Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."
We often look, incorrectly, at the great flood and think it is God's response to human nature gone wrong.
This is a mistake.
God is not surprised by our sin, He mourns it, corrects it, challenges it, but is not surprised by it.
Thus the flood is not God's way of saying, "Wow - I didn't see that coming...", but instead God's way of showing His tremendous, life-giving power.
It is not as clean as we would be comfortable with, it is simply God's power; that power roars like a lion!
