Genesis 8:20 - "Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar."

Genesis 7:2 tells us that there were fourteen of each clean animal on the ark. 

Thank you Ed for helping us consider this truth:  It is one thing to sacrifice out of abundance.  If you have 300 sheep, you can easily pick out the best one and give it away to God.

What happens when you only have 14 sheep?  14 doves?  14 cows?

We are living in days when many of us only have 14 things to our name.  Sacrificing to God becomes a real sacrifice for us.

Read Genesis 8:21 and you will find God's response to such a sacrifice.  Do you expect that same response when you sacrifice out of your means?
