Ephesians 1:17
"that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him."
This is the prayer Paul prays for the Ephesians. It stems from their love for each other and their faith.
There will be much more to the prayer that follows, but these are the words that Paul uses to establish the prayer.
The idea is one of summation. Paul is saying, herein lies the power of Christ in us: His power is found in His wisdom, revelation and knowledge of Him.
When we hear from God, we do not hear a whisper, we hear the full life-changing, earth-shaking, everything of God.
There is no small revelation. God will make Himself known.
