Ephesians 2:9
"Not as a result of works, that no one should boast."
Paul insists on making this one thing very clear: We are saved by God, because of God, through God, in God's perspective, with God's blessing, on account of God's purpose...
All God - no me.
I cannot save me. I did not save me. I would not have saved me. I do not have potential for saving me. I would fail if I tried to save me. I did fail when I tried to save me...
So I will not boast. However, there is a qualifier to that statement:
I will not boast in my works, or in me.
I will boast in God's grace.
